The aim of this research is to know the type and function of discourse deixis in Malala Yousafazi’s speech at United Nations Youth Assembly through watching the video and reading the script and the relation with anaphora and cataphora. One of several type of pragmatic is deixis, whereas deixis is divided into five such as person deixis, time deixis, place deixis, discourse deixis,and social deixis.
In this case pragmatic is a branch of linguistic study that learned about language meaning. Language is a tool of communication that never separate of humans life, people can do many things by language like sharing the information, share their feelings or opinion and influence someone by language.
